If I am remembering correctly, the switch is part of the latch. Each door has its own switch to turn on the interior light, and it sounds like the switch in the driver's door latch is either stuck or junk. If it has to be replaced it is very simple to remove for those that know how, but a nightmare for those that don't.

Since it is only happening on the drivers side door to multiple switches and lights on that door only, I think the problem is the wiring harness as it enters the drivers door by the door hinges.

Usually there are three ways to energize the interior lighting. One is the dash board lighting switch which also controls the dash lights. The second is the switches on the doors. The third is the switch on the dome light. Sometimes the dome light has a setting to prevent the door switches from energizing.
