That was a dumb article. No clubs over 5 years old? Really!? And while only carrying 6 balls makes perfect sense for a decent golfer I know plenty who would have a tough time getting through 18 on that ration.

Personally, when I see name/initials on a bag or any golf gear (e.g., putter, wedge) I think it's kind of pompous. I see it as reserved for tour players, and even then what's the point? Everyone knows who they are. Now for advertising purposes as OP mentioned, I think that's smart.
