I was reading Golf World ( the issue with the Ping Eye2 on the cover) and found out that the #2 rated 9-hole course (Whitinsville GC) is about 2 or 3 towns away. It is a Ross design, and judging by the crappy website, it looks really private, they don't even list membership prices (usually the inexpensive places do).

there's a 9 hole course about 10 miles away from my house that i stumbled upon while taking the scenic route home. I never knew there was a course there. I peeked around and it became clear that they didn't want people to know that it was there. It's really nice though, fantastic condition. Like you, I doubt i'll ever play there either.

i have this short easy course ill give the website and judge if a player that has only played there twice could do nine holes in about 5 over. www.lumphanangolfclub.com there is pictures of the holes and the scorecard. My friends who play there a lot doubted it was possible

I like the idea of calling a private club in these economic times... They'd almost be crazy to say no to $120... unless they are Cypress point, or Augusta National. This was a seriously good suggestion! Besides what's the worst they could do, say no you need a sponsor...

I play in the UK and had my first ever round on the par 3 nine hole course at Chesfield Downs , Hertfordshire. Is maintained to proper course standard so (unlike most of the other par 3s I've played on) the greens are actually decent and sizeable.
