So that means that you DO have to move the ball front/back when you're hitting a draw or a fade using the technique you mentioned (which is what I use as well)

personally, I've found that if I change my ball position I just end up with incosistent contact. to shape shots, I literally close or open the face, then swing away. to fade I usually take a slightly more out to in path to ensure some side spin, because my natural shot is a slight draw.
