You should be able to do the first two rounds in two shots at the most and then 3 or less on the the next two. Also, here is guide that may help: http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Fable/Coin_Golf That is for the original Fable but it should also work with this one just as well.
How to hit a beer mug in golf?
Round 2 - Aim right of the big jug in the middle of the table, you will see a beer mug, you want to hit it just right with a shot that looks like it will miss the left side, but just barely hit the edge of it. Use 80-90% power until you get your bearings, 100% on a good shot will shoot it right through the hole and off the table. Again, if you don't get it in 1 shot, you at least have a second easy shot.
Where to aim in round 3?
Round 3 - Aim to the far left, in the great distance you will see a skiny glass on the edge of the table. Hit it in the middle-right side and you will quickly learn the spot to hit, use 100% power and you'll probably get a lot of teasers just outside the ring and start thinking it can't make it, when one time it will. OF course, this hole provides on of the better 2nd shots, its so easy to get the aim down.

Coin Golf is one of the least efficient games to play to earn gold. You can find the same card player character at the Tavern. The underlying concept is to get as low a score as possible. The above table shows your target shots per hole and the best you can possibly get.
How to play penny?
To play, pull (the opposite way of where you want the penny to go) to where you want your power to be, hold it steady, make sure you're aiming in the right spot, and then press . Don't try to pull and release, this can seriously hold you back.

I think you just have to run onto that little island for credit for running to the door. Ideally you want to be there turning around with 25 or more seconds left. Don't forget to hold A to run the whole time. It took me a few tries. But then I was trying when still a child, which you may be doing too.

I had this exact same problem. Eventually after around 10 trys, I managed to get back to the guy and win with 1 second left on the clock. Not sure what causes you to go dead slow, clinching perhaps? I am also having a nightmare with the bow training, as only 1/5 shots hits one of the moving targets, even though I am locked on, any tips for that?

How many coins do you need to unlock the Fable 3 achievement?
To unlock this achievement you need to collect at least one gold coin before finishing a level. Any gold coins you collect during play are transferred automatically to your Fable III game (one coin in Fable Coin Golf = 100 coins in Fable III). You should unlock this achievement at the end of the second level, providing you collect at least one gold coin.
How many levels are there in chapter 1?
Each chapter has fifteen levels and you need to get at least a bronze medal score on each level to unlock the next one. Once you have bronze medals on all fifteen levels of a chapter, the achievement will unlock for completing that chapter.
Do you have to play Fable 3 to unlock it?
You don't need to have already played Fable III in order to unlock this achievement, but you obviously do in order to use any of the coins you've collected.
