Ribbed grips have a small protruding ridge, designed to be oriented along the spine of the shaft. Recently, a more modern and prominent rib design has been introduced by some manufacturers, calling it an " Alignment " or " Calibrate " rib. These alignment grips feature an unmistakable ridge that runs along the full length of the grip.

The Wrap style grip is actually a simulated 1-piece style but using a wrap design. The Winn Excel is a popular wrap style grip, as well as the Golf Pride Tour Wrap and Jumbomax Wrap grips. Cord grips have cord fabric interweaved through the surface of the grip. This provides traction and added firmness (feedback). The Hybrid style is a newer more modern style grip that utilizes both cord and rubber. The Golf Pride MCC Plus4 is one of the most notable Hybrid grips, which use a softer rubber for the lower hand and cord (for traction/control) in the upper hand.

I decided to change grips from standard to the Lamkin Crossline Full cord midsze ones and Im just curious how much griptape people in here are using? And what would people recommend?

Manz60

Hi , thanks for the informative poll ! I prefer to use a smaller grip size for my wedges...more feel and touch for the scoring club. I 've always wondered why grip manufactures didn't offer a more complete size range ( -1/64, std, +1/64, +1/32, +3/64, +1/16).

One on the driver, fairway, and hybrid Two on the 4-pw Three on the gap, sand, and lob

I like my grips really thick so I got 8 on my woods 5 on my irons and 7 on my wedges

tbomb

I go 2 on the Driver/Fwy's/Hybrids with allows me to turn them over a little bit I go 2 and an extra wrap on the bottom hand for the irons, I really turn them over with std grips I go 1 on my 54/58 combo because the last thing I want to do with those is leave those out to the right, and I typically hit knock downs with them. It took me a LONG time to figure out what felt right, meaning I actually bought a set of irons and just loved the way they felt, so I tore the grips off and had a look, otherwise...I'd prob still be moving my irons way more then I like..

0 wraps. I just blow them on with air. I use either crossline mids or NDMC mids. Gives me a slightly undersized mid, or a slightly oversized std I reckon. I used to use 580's on 600 shafts, with two wraps of tape, sometimes 3 on skinnier graphite shafts. Just got tired of taping, so starting using midsize with no wraps and it works out great.
