Hi all after a bit of advice. Ive searched on the forum but cant find anyones posts with the same issue. My cars a facelift (67) and only done around 8k miles. Been completely trouble free until the weekend when I got the electronic parking brake fault flashing on the dash whilst on the motorway.

I haven’t ever heard of any issues with the parking brake, apart from where someone has changed the rear brakes and not set them up correctly. Not much help I’m afraid. Will be interested to hear if the switch solves your issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Called the VW garage this morning where I bought the car from and basically told tough luck as the 67's dont fall under warranty extension. Was worth a try I suppose.

Yeah the cars kept clean as I have a works van. It has an easy life and as you say with low miles I was surprised something like that has failed. New ones ordered now anyways. As for extended warranty i'm going down the stage 1 route so I dont think i'll get the benefit.

Just an update on this incase anyone has similar issues in future, the issue wasnt the switch afterall I had a short circuit somewhere on the wiring loom which was casuing the fault.

Im over a month out of warranty now and VW basically told me tough luck so I took it to my normal independant garage who sorted it.
