Select reverse gear, camera pops out as it should it shows on the Infotainment screen. You come out of reverse and usually wait 10sec or so and the camera closes, Infotainment goes back to whatever screen you were on. However now at random the camera will stay open, Infotainment returns to whatever screen you were on before you engaged the camera.

I'm having some issues with the reverse camera, the Mrs took the car out this afternoon and she said the camera was working.

Mine has occasionally done that, generally after very little time between engine being switched off and then restarted.

Mine also does this occasionally. I put it in reverse and no camera. Usually resolved by turning the car off then on again.

Some retrofits use the reversing light to trigger the camera. Worth checking the reversing lights are working????

New issue developed recently the reverse camera gets stuck in the open position.

Any dealer would be able to check on ETKA, if nothing else, if the camera was an OEM fitment or not, what a useless bunch.

Ah, if you're hearing it try and close, then that narrow it down, and I'd concentrate on the camera retraction mechanism itself. You might be lucky and it might just need some grease. Unfortunately if something is broken, you'll likely need to buy the whole badge with camera unless you get lucky and find one at a scrap yard.
