Now that Golfnow is charging $199 per year, what's your experience been just calling the courses vs using Golfnow? Do you recoup the $199 if you use Golfnow?

playar32

I have found a couple of discrepancies between the normal rates of the course and what golfnow charges. Hotdeals are better rates, but why pay golfnow a fee. Most courses have a golfnow type technology on their website anyway.

SNIPERBBB

I'd call the course...last time I used golfnow we booked a course that unbeknownst to me was effectively closed, old silo Kentucky now perma closed. The club house had been closed since the previous fall and some maintenance guy came out and took our money, had to pay cash.

Greggap

I called around to three courses, none of them was close to the Golfnow price for a similar prized tee time, it ranged for $10-20 difference, so if you play a lot Golfnow is probably worth it, especially if you use the Hot Deals.

sethdavidsdad

Golfnow is always cheaper for me. Surprised that some of the courses charge more than the standard golfnow rate. I have called a pro shop on the way to the course asked the price and then end up booking thru golfnow just because they try to charge more. I get the hot deals are more but don’t understand charging more than the regular rate.

golfandfishing

The below is true for Hot Deals only. Courses have (or at least used to have) the option of either paying GN a fee to be on their platform or they could allow GN to sell a few times a day as Hot Deals, instead of paying a fee upfront GN keeps all of the revenue from Hot Deals.

Hack Daddy

If GN is so morally abhorrent, then golf courses should just opt out of using it. Very simple; it's a partnership they agree to.

GolfNow - Received a Christmas Gift

I have been receiving a christmas gift card from my wife with Golf Now. Their website is returning an error message while trying to redeemed it. Last year I also encountered the same issue, and called them up and on that same day, they applied the gift card to my account, no that big deal.

GolfNow - GolfNow ripping off people - Don't book with them

I booked a round for me and my wife, when we were driving to the course, we received a phone call from the course warning us that the course was flooded and in bad shape. We asked the guy how bad it was and he said that the course should really be closed so he felt he needed to warn us.

GolfNow - frequent access error

I used to use ur app' for golf in US for the long time. i like ur system, useful, resonable. but recently it happened again when i tried to checking my reservation on this app'. no access, of course i couldn't confirm my reservation, this week too. tried erase and reload the app' many times, even log-out and in (also alert my id&PW are invalid Huh...) there are nothing i can anymore..

GolfNow - Unauthorized golfnow annual subscription fee

On June 22, 2021 my checking account was hit for a charge of $97 for a subscription I had cancelled 2 years prior. In June of 2020, my account was charge twice for $97, but was ultimately returned last year.

GolfNow - The refund policy

I tried to cancel a tee time on Friday booked for a foursome that Saturday because I got corona virus. GolfNow wouldn't allow me to do so. I called the course and got it cancelled that way. Again. Because I have coronavirus. And I was charged the $200 for 4 players plus the $12 convenience fee.

GolfNow - Tee time

I booked and paid for a tee time at Lakeland Village in Allyn WA and 20 seconds after I realized I made it for the wrong week, Aug 28 should have been Sep 4. I immediately called the golf course. They said they couldn't cancel the Golf Now time but could make the correct tee time.

GolfNow - Refunds

I accidentally booked a reservation twice, with different credit cards, I called to get a refund for one of the reservations I was told that I can only get a credit. They will only give a credit not a refund for one of the reservations.

Course and pathways need work!

Unfortunately the course was not in very good shape. The greens had mold on them, the cups were rough around the edges and the fairways were either too wet or too dry throughout most of the course. Not the most enjoyable day of golf we have had. We stopped at the club house for lunch at the turn.

Refund policy

Had to cancel due to me having covid. Still waiting for my refund? Or credit?

Very frustrated

Very frustrated when trying to book tee times on popular courses. The tee sign-up sheets weren't populated after midnight on courses that allowed for 7 days advanced booking. Last Wednesday I kept trying until 45 minutes after midnight, and still no joy. Had to settle for a lower tier course.

full service and easy booking

the listings of the golf courses provide a wide range of options. Once a course is selected, booking the location and time is easy.

Terrible Customer Service

If I could give this a zero rating I would. We booked a tee time for one date, but when I got the confirmation email it was for a different date. A mere 3 minutes later I was able to cancel the tee time through GolfNow. We checked with the golf course to make sure the tee time had been canceled and that we would not be charged and they told us yes.

Golf now experience

I use Golfnow to find tee times that are not expensive. It gives me specials and saved me time calling pro shops.

Great experience

Great experience! Loved the ability to book a very good tee time and loved the savings! I will use GolfNow more often in the future - Thank you!

golfduval

Golf is expensive enough as it is. What are some ways to avoid having to pay fees to book a tee time? It seems like its an illusion that golfnow and related sites are offering "discounted" tee times yet charging you fees that add up to more than you would normally pay.

dennyjones

I paid $3.49 each for three this week. It was a good deal so the additional cost was still below the course's regular price. I had a $10 reward so I played for under $10.

Buckeyebowman

Either take one of the above suggestions or book enough rounds that you avoid the fee! I've booked "hot deal" rounds at a local course that would normally charge in the mid 30's for 10 bucks plus fee, which equals about 13 bucks! What's the problem?

imsys0042

If there is a course that you like then strike up a conversation with the people behind the counter. Ask about the difference in price between online and calling and see if they would be happy to give you the better rate since you are interested in playing there sometimes.

moegolfer11

Yes I couldn't stand it, It would always double book tee times, or book on top of tee times that had been set up through phone that I put in the system.

Shiram

No Golf Now courses in my area. I found it to be a pain in the arse to use when I was in Florida and the deals were not any better than I could get by booking direclty with the course (online). I do however love booking times online.

Carolina Golfer 2

It is probably a lot like expedia and hotwire for hotels. I manage a hotel and we view those booking engines as a neccessary evil. It's not so much because of the rates.

edub72

The course I play at uses it but will give you cheaper if you just ask, case in point, booked thru golfnow and rate was xx.xx for green fee and cart and when I got to the course they mentioned not to book thru golfnow anymore because they build golfnows fees into the green fee that they give them and give you in person the green fee minus the golf now fees.

KYMAR

While 3putt4par's explanation is a good on speaking generally about GN, I am not understanding why an employee would have a specific problem with those who get in on one of those "hot deals" As I understand it golfnow guarantees certain bookings with each course and they pay the course for those times and they are the ones taking the hit.
