I've actually been focusing on this exact same thing recently. My knees are normally bent in quite a bit. I've begun to notice that I don't feel as stable from the waste down as I'd like. Bowing then outward a touch has really helped.

Knees in tends to limit hip rotation during the bs. I learned the hard way. Over the last few months I have gotten more neutral with the knees and am much more in synch.

I have been working on this to try to alleviate stress on my left knee. I have found by starting with right knee bowed and my left knee in a little, with my heel just slightly off the ground and keep it there through the backswing. It sounds a lot stranger than it looks and it works quite well.
