I've got a huge melon and it's hard to find a hat that fits comfortably. I keep trying L/XL flex fit hats and they just end up being a little too tight to wear comfortably for an entire round of golf. They do stretch out big enough to fit my head, but the elastic pulls them too tight and I get a headache.

I normally cut slits in the elastic band if I can. If I cut about 4 of them, I can usually get a good fit.

Where do ya do the cuts at usually? And do ya cut the elastic all the way through or just half or three quarters of it? I wear a 7 7/8 fitted and I'm running into the same problem with the l/xl titleist hats...

The first time, I cut all the way through and ruined it. I now cut 3/4 of the way to the end. All you are doing it making it stretch out further. I just cut them equally around the hat.

Appreciate the help! Im going to try this on an older hat to see how well it works for me!

My dad had one of these and I gave it a try. I kept cranking it over time and it has worked well as the L/XL flex fit only needed a little more room for me. http://hatjack.com/index_files/thehatjack.htm

I'm a 7-3/4 and the Titleist flex fit used to fit me but the newer hats seem to have gotten smaller. TourStop.com has fitted cotton Titleist hats up to size 8. I have a few and they've worked out well. Under Armour stretch fit hats in L/XL supposed to fit up to 7-3/4. I got their Tactical Stretch Fit and it fits.
