So I take my clubs to my local Dick's to get them regripped because they are the cheapest place that does it ($3 and I am too inept to do it myself) and am very unhappy.

Yep. I used to think it was real precise (and it is too a point)... But if you can hit a golf ball, you can re-grip your own clubs. It is actually fun too.... UPDATE- I took my clubs in for the 3rd time to talk about getting my money back and I FINALLY spoke to someone who was knowledgable (the PGA Professional stationed at that store) who was the first person with an explanation.
