Fresh off the high public course green fees vs. quality discussion, I have to ask if anyone else loves playing early in the morning? I find that early morning golf is the single most salient determining factor for my golf enjoyment.

immts007

Absolutely!!! Soon as the weather gets nice enough me and my buddies will be hitting the course on a regular basis at 6am sharp so we can get in 9 before work. We did a lot of this last year, and its a fantastic time to be out.

I love the cold air with the mildew on the grass. And when your ball rolls it leaves a little trail a different shade of green.

Dent

Uh oh, maybe thats not the word im looking for. Its that stuff that looks like water on the ground thats kinda sticky I think?

Nothing beats standing in the fairway on #2 and it's dead silent other than some birds chirping, slightly cool air and fresh grass. Love it. I walk out in the morning to have a cup of coffee and can't get to the course fast enough.

Craig Mac

Golf is about the only thing I can be happy about getting up at 5:30 in morning for a 6:45 tee time. That being said, I just cringe at the thought of an early tee time. I can't stand being the "dew sweepers", the rooster tail of dew that comes off the ball in the morning. I'd much rather play in the afternoon twilight rate style.

Wisco-Kid

Early morning is my favorite time to go golfing. Especially in the summer time when it is really hot out, the morning is nice and cool.

FLOGMR

Could not resist posting this pic. A few of us got the first tee time this morning at a local course...teed off at 6:37 AM....sunrise was at 6:36 so when we got out into the first fairway, this was the scene behind us looking back to the pro shop.

sheppy335

You can play with me anytime. I bet it was at a nice pace without feeling rushed and still went fast.

golfgirlrobin

We’re early every day, too. With most of Northern California burning down this summer, the smoke made for the most amazing sunrises I’ve ever seen.

MarkFromTheUK

Early morning golf is only beaten by late evening golf, especially on a Friday.

Markrip

I’ll do this my brother in law. We’re usually done in around 3 hours and sometimes less. It’s great on hot summer days. I just have to remember I’m usually a club shorter when I play this early .

jmtbkr

I play 5-6 days a week and I am usually in the first group, teeing off before 7am (typical sunrise time in s.e. Florida).

thesaxemachine

I like being on the course early, but play considerably better in the afternoon.
