As title, my R is due a service and was wondering what the going rates are at main dealers.

Racinghero

Booked mine in with an extremely talented, multi award winning and highly recommended independent for my 3 year service and MOT.

Bernie

I have been quoted £430 for MOT, service, haldex change, brake fluid at Dealers in Sheffield

gregozedobe

Make sure they clean the haldex filter as well as change the haldex fluid (it's not part of VW scheduled servicing, but it should be).

Raiden

First service with mine VW messed it up. 2nd service I went back to my specialist with no issues and they picked up and dropped the car home. Even my wife's VW California the dealer is OK but not great. Only reason we keep using them is they are really really cheap and the van only does about 3k a year.

camelsac2002

Independent all the way. My Indy uses VW trained technicians and they know their stuff. I’ve heard of dealerships using the wrong oil, not servicing the Haldex properly if at all. My independent actually saved me about £700 when a SEAT dealer reckoned I needed a whole load of work doing.

SpursMadDave

My dealer is very good, not the closest one to me but only a 20 minute drive. There is a good thread on here for what dealers to avoid etc Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

camelsac2002

Yeah i wasn't sure why people are so fussed on dealer stamps either, i feel like and independent company have more of a reputation to uphold where as dealers seem to rip you off. i have contacted a independent company which I've heard is good in my area.

camelsac2002

Totally pointless changing the oil and not cleaning the strainer - it stops the flow of oil then the pump fails. There are a number of threads about it within the forum. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I’m one for main dealer. Personally I think having main dealer service history means a lot, especially on a performance car.
