Universal City Walk and Universal Studios are connected. As far as shuttle buses if you're staying on one of the universal studio hotel grounds they have shuttle buses that run like clockwork. Most are in walking distance but about a 15 min walk it's much less of a hassle to just take the shuttle with cool AC!
