I played both the River and Hills course. The course was really in pretty good condition for this time of year. There had been a lot of heat in TX, so they kept it in good condition. The greens were very nice, surprisingly! It's a pretty short course. It's a good course for the money, but there are so many very nice courses around the metro area of Ft. Worth and Dallas, that it doesn't seem like much of a course. Pro shop and snack bar are in bad need of updating.

The course is short, they took the course and reversed the nines, the old front 9 is now the back 9. They chopped down some par fives on the new front 9 to make a layout friendlier for kids.

Everyone at Mohawk kind of regards Pecan Valley as the “children’s course” because of its mid-2000’s redesign to accommodate The First Tee program. I am glad TFT exists because we need young golfers, but redesigning cherished holes to make them easier isn’t something that appeals to most golfers.
