Speaking of finish....I was looking at my TSW wedges the other day. I got these maybe middle of last year (I think)? No significant wear anywhere on the head. Nothing on the sole at all.

I have a set of Maltby te 701 forged I've been using. Just looking to see people's opinions on the Maltbys compared to big name clubs like TM, Callaway, Ping etc..

Just venturing into maltby now. No readily apparent issues on quality. My playing partners noticed my new sticks and had no idea what maltby was and promptly went back to not giving a crap about what's in my bag... As I find with most people... If you care about a more marketed name then it's a problem.

There is a great listing on ebay for a set of DBMs with KBS tour black shafts, The listing has been on there awhile. Original price the seller wanted was approx. $500. Now they are at a BN price of $300. All the clubs are new with the exception of the 9 iron. Great deal for a buyer - the seller is taking a bath.

I have the Maltby TEs and a Tricept wedge. Nice thing about Maltby is you can buy a single club and if you know your specs, have them assemble - all for a nominal cost. The quality of their irons are as good as any. As respects cost, can't beat them. Only downside is the resale value.

Kingcat990

My hesitation is, do I want to play a non oem brand? The performance says it shouldn't matter.

I have Maltby TS2's (5-PW) in my bad and really like them. The KE4 is good club too and you can easily adjust the weight on it. I enjoy building my own set and tinkering with the various shafts and swing weights so Maltby components are right up my alley. @Piz has it right when he recommended ordering one club and trying it out.

All clubs are components consisting of heads, shafts and grips. If a 5 iron is made of steel and weighs around 256 grams it’s a 5 iron. Weather you like the design is subjective. The big OEM companies just assemble components in a mass production facility using commercial grade shafts designed for them.

Anyone of you guys ever dealt with their customer service? Is it any good? It sounds like to me from the few of you who have responded, that Maltby makes quality golf equipment. Maybe down the line, I'll start building my own clubs again. (Don't have access to the equipment anymore to do it.)

tehuti

No experience with them yet. But I may pick up one of their new drivers - the ISO-T.

deadon500

I got them for the look at standing over the ball they just fit for me ..........

I am also a big fan of Maltby. Have 3 of their iron sets: blades, game improvement and super game improvement. Like them all. Also have their KE4 driver and fairway woods, as well as 3 hybrids. All solid quality. Of course, I like Taylormade too, have had Ben Hogans, Haig Ultras, Ping Eye, Titleist and 1Irons.
