The gti covers might fit on the r seats. There's also a cloth option available on Rs in europe that you could try and track down. Idk if anyone's swapped R seats for S, but SE (Gti leather) seats have been swapped for S seats (Gti plaid).
Would GTI seats fit in a tornado red R?
I don't need the full power functionality of the R seats, and the GTI seats I think would look nice in my Tornado Red R. And the cloth grips nicer rather than the leather. I know physically the seats will bolt up. But if I were to find a set to swap, would they plug / play without error codes etc?

Sit in the cloth seats if you haven't yet. They feel a lot softer than the leather because the cloth material stretches so much more easily than the leather. I generally prefer cloth seats but in this case I actually prefer the leather for the firmness that the material provides.
