If you buy the pump spray bottle of grip solvent it can easily be done over the kitchen sink. It takes longer to clean the old tape off than put the new grips on. With adding the buttload of build up tape I use I can can still strip a set of irons and regrip them to my specs in an hour.

To add to what everyone else has said you can order grip "kits" with your preferred grip from Golfworks. They will do a package deal The kit comes with grips and tape and a non chemical solvent. They also sell water activated grip tape. Doing it this way you could do your own clubs in your house with no smell or hazardous fumes etc.
