A Golf Cart is a must! Peaks Island is fun but you need a bike or a golf cart to really enjoy the Island’s beauty. I strongly suggest a Golf Cart. A reservation is a must. I recommend Mike’s and having it for about 2-3 hours. Use Google maps to find the old WWII bunker.

A: Go up the hill from the ferry and take a left from the ice-cream parlor. We are about a half block from there right next to the Umbrella Cover Museum.

A: We have recently transitioned from mostly gas to mostly electric carts.
Q: Do you rent carts for weddings?
A: Yes! We can provide up to 15 carts for your wedding. Please reserve as far in advance as you can.

Fires and fireworks are not permitted without a permit and are often banned during dry spells. Fires are something islanders take very seriously for obvious reasons. Can you park on Peaks?
Parking on Peaks. If you decide you must bring a car there is a large (but, again, usually full) parking lot just to the right when you exit the ferry. You can park in on most streets, however. If you do bring a car over, know that pedestrians and cyclists have right of way. Also, don’t expect to drive over 20 mph.
Do you need a car to visit the island?
You probably do not need or want your car. Unless you have mobility issues, the island is best enjoyed on foot or by bike. Bringing a car for the day is usually unnecessary, always expensive, and can be time-consuming, especially in the summer when rates are high and the lines are very, very long.
