What happens when adhesive melts?
Adhesive melts on the inside surface of the grip; this lead to it joining the tape which it is wrapped on. It then dissolves leading to some slipperiness after the solvent hits it. Consequently, it allows a force to be applied to the grip over the shaft as you wiggle it into alignment.

So I am a novice but do regrip my own clubs. I usually am very generous with the solvent so my question is- after re-gripping a steel shafted iron how long should I wait to play? I am up in the Northeast and looking at around 90 degrees and humid this week. I am looking to play tomorrow afternoon and wanted to do a few clubs today. Thanks.
