I was just curious if anyone happen to know the best way to ship a couple dozen (2-4?) sets of golf balls was? I assume the weight of them would be costly, unless one of the carriers provided a flat rate for a specific box size?

USPS Flat Rate Medium Box holds about 5 dozen golf balls, maybe a bit more if you put them in sleeves only (no boxes) and definitely more if you put them in there loose (no sleeves). Use the more nearly cubical Flat Rate Medium, not the flatter one meant for sending shirts or papers. You get the empty boxes for free at the local P.O.

If you can't get a Regional Rate box then yes, going with the a la carte rates make sense in Zone 1 or Zone 2, even for 3-4 dozen balls.

This is all great info, thanks guys! So let's just say I'm selling 4 dozen balls on ebay, should I just put like $7 for shipping (which should just about cover it if the buyer is in my region). If the seller is not in my region, I just take the hit and pay the other $6 out of pocket for the full $12.35 flat rate?

Fourmyle of Ceres

I always do flat rate shipping on eBay (or BST for that matter). Buyers seem to dig it and hey, it's less trouble to list it that way. Being on the east coast, usually I price it to account for going to say Colorado or Texas or something.

prestiege

id say charge the flat rate shipping box price for the 4 dozen and if the person buying them is state side you can issue a 5$ refund or something so you wont take the hit
