No way to cut without compromising swing weight. Must add lead tape or hotmelt for weight.

If you are really committed to this I would take the tip off, tip a half inch and then butt cut a half inch. Just butt cutting and then adding lead tape to up sw is going to make the shaft play softer

If you need to reinstall shaft tip, you might as well look for a heavier shaft (even a pull) and install on some 3rd party tip and experiment. Lead tape if needed, is near invisible if put in the bottom near the shaft screw. Like Howard says, light grip is not the thing to do unless you actually want to lower the total weight as well.

Thanks for all the very insightful replies, very good info. I have played 3 rounds gripping down and can't get comfortable with that. I played with the Club Pro's 913 D2 today ar 44.5 and loved it even though the shaft was a bit stiff.I'll cut mine a little, try it and go from there.
