Why do people pay so much extra for Japanese clubs and prototypes than what else is available?

scotte

Basically Japan clubs are the very best at construction (just like a lexus) but they play more like a ladies club here in the states. I honestly think this might have something to do with it. American OEMS seem to come with lots of s300's and this shaft is just to much for your average weekend warrior or guy who doesn't play several times per week.

mrleedarwin

I cant answer why ppl pay more. But I can tell you that they cost more because they are an imported item that is not readily available locally. I recently bought a set of Fourteen brand cast irons, now that they opened up an office here in the US and are trying to break into the local market.

sfdoddsy

I paid much less for my Japanese Callaways than I did for my previous Callaways (Fusions).

ProSpec

The shafts in Japan are much weaker. As I recently found out, the big shaft manufacturer over in japan is nippon, great feel, but the stiffest shaft they make 1150 x flex falls just weaker than our s300.
