What is the difference between dynamic gold and sensicore gold shafts?
Dynamic Gold shafts are designed with a firmer tip and for players with firmer swings. The sensicore design will absorb any shock and provide a more solid feel. Please refer to Chart A in the PDF below.
What is a sensicore shaft?
SensiCore is an insert which reduces vibration 70% better than other steel shafts and 25-30% better than graphite shafts. SensiCore improves feel and provides golfers the ability to practice and play longer because it decreases the harmful effects of "shock" on the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
What is the size of the sensicore insert?
The SensiCore insert is 14" long and weighs a mere 4 grams. The insert does not affect the playability or alter swingweight. To install, make sure the clubs is cut to length then slide the insert into the butt end of the shaft.
What is the best shaft for a beginner golfer?
The #1 shaft in golf. This high-flex, tour weight shaft is designed for skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight for optimum control and accuracy. The frequency matching makes the shaft very consistent. Dynamic Gold shafts are designed with a firmer tip and for players with firmer swings.
What is SensiCore in a golf shaft?
SensiCore is an insert which reduces vibration 70% better than other steel shafts and 25-30% better than graphite shafts. SensiCore improves feel and provides golfers the ability to practice and play longer because it decreases the harmful effects of "shock" on the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
How much do Dynamic Gold shafts weigh?
Because the weight can differ slightly during production — and because Dynamic Gold is a weight-sorted product — the standard stiff flex is broken out into three sub-flexes: S200 (127 grams), S300 (130 grams) and S400 (134 grams).
Is S400 stiffer than X100?
The S400 is a stiff shaft, and the X100 is an X flex shaft. For those that are not familiar with the X flex, it is a less flexible shaft built for golfers that have higher swing speeds and need that ultra stiff shaft profile. The S400 is a bit more stiff than the S300, but it is not as stiff as the X100.
What weight are R300 shafts?
I've had many clubs in my past 20 years with Dynamic Gold R300 tapered shafts. During those times where I've built clubs with these shafts, I've always weighed and measured them. Every time they've been weighing in at around 118g when correctly tipped and butt trimmed to the specific iron.
How heavy are S400 shafts?
The S400 shaft model weighs approximately 132-grams and is stiff flex. The X100 version is 130-grams, extra-stiff. Both models feature a high kick point for low launch and low spin.
Is S400 stiffer than S300?
Played s300 for the last 6 years. New irons came today with s400 and they feel slightly stiffer. Both are 3/4 long.
What is the difference between Dynamic Gold S300 and s400?
Comparing the dynamic gold s300 vs. s400, some golfers may say that the s400 is stiffer than the s300. Others will say they are the same stiffness, and the only noticeable difference is in the weight. The s400 is meant to be slightly stiffer, but the difference is tough to pick up on.
What weight is Dynamic Gold wedge flex?
Dynamic Gold 115 is a mid-low launch and spin wedge shaft that is optimal for golfers who play iron shafts weighing 105g or less.
Is S200 stiffer than S300?
The S300 only appears to have one type of flex option, that being stiff. If you already use a stiff flex shaft, then this won't be an issue. However, if you are used to regular stiffness or extra stiffness, then the S300 will not have options that you are used to....Dynamic Gold S200Dynamic Gold S300LegalityYesYes4 more rows
What is the difference between S300 and R300 shafts?
The main difference between the R300 and S300 is the flex. The R300 has a regular flex and the S300 has a stiff flex. This means that the R300 is better for players who have slower swing speeds, whereas the S300 is better for players who have faster swing speeds.
Is Dynamic Gold a good shaft?
Conclusion. If you want a heavy weight iron shaft that is balanced and offers superior control and stability, play the industry standard, Dynamic Gold. Dynamic Gold does come in two flavors these days: regular and Tour Issue.
What is Dynamic Gold VSS?
Dynamic Gold 95 is the culmination of endless R&D and years of testing from our alloy engineering team. Dynamic Gold 95 is designed as our lightest constant weight offering and our most flexible steel shaft in our entire True Temper line of shafts.

That's an interesting questions since the sensicore inserts can be purchased separately. I wonder is the factory DG shafts w/ sensicore has different specs than non snsicore shafts or are they just an S300 with the insert?

My experience is with the original DG S300 Sensicores, circa 2000-2002. I believe they have slightly changed since then, but not sure if that is the core itself, the shaft or both.

I just got a new set of the Srixon 701 tours with DG S300 sensicore shafts and my subjective feeling is that they actually do feel "softer" than regular S300 DGs. By softer I mean less vibration while hitting the ball and not necessarily in stiffness. I guess that's what they are supposed to do and they do feel great.

Step pattern is different on the two shafts. They alloy used in TTDG Sensicore shafts is lighter than normal Dynamic Gold. They wanted to keep the same total shaft weight and balance point even with the addition of the Sensicore insert. I found Sensicore to play a little softer, despite having a shorter tip to first step.

Someone at TT gave me a good explanation at one point, since I noticed the same thing while rebuilding a favorite set of irons years ago. Originally, when TT first designed the Sensicore insert, it was heavier.

Leaderboard Golf has a very nice selection of DG Sensicore singles and sets.

I completely agree with your assessment. I'm amazed more people haven't noticed the difference simply based on the different step patterns as well as identifying that the overall weight is the same despite the fact that the Sensicore version has a 6 - 12 gram insert in the shaft (depending on the year the shaft was made).
How does weight affect golf?
Golf is a muscle-reactionary sport, so weight plays into how the muscles react and, in turn, how well you hit the ball. 1) Over the top players probably should have lighter shafts. They will keep the body from wanting to pull over the top so much. 2) If you hit shots thin, try lighter.
Is there a one size fits all rule for golf clubs?
Additionally, it shows that there are no simple, one-size-fits-all rules for selecting the right shaft. There is no substitute for working with a knowledgeable club fitter and builder to create the tools that will allow you to play your best golf.

I don't think inserts are as effective as graphite for damping shock. The Prosoft inside a graphite might be an interesting experiment.

I've read your post with much interest since I'm talking to my fitter about going to Aerotech's. I currently have Nippon's by Callaway which I beleive is very similar to the 950's. I'm still having problems with this shaft and my elbow's and was considering putting in the sensicores or prosoft inserts.

I have been playing with DG S300 with Sensicore for last 6 years, I can't practice anymore due to pain. I am in process of buying new set of irons with Project X 5.5 Graphite.

Any reliable sites to get the ProSoft Inserts? Looking at these and very interested.

For you guys who have switched to graphite has anyone gone to a heavier graphite and still seen improvement in their tennis elbow? Some people feel like it is the reduction in weight that helps the most. My fitter is pushing me into Aerotech i90 (95 grams) and I hope this does the trick even though it is a little on the heavy side.
