I clean mine between every round....just water and a soft brush works pretty well

I try to clean mine before I'm going to play a round. I do really focus on keeping the grooves clean during the round though. I think studies have shown that you lose some spin if your grooves are full of dirt, grass, and grit. Of course this weekend, I played three rounds on dirt slow greens that had just been aerated.

Wet towel on the course after every shot. A couple of time per year I take them inside scrub down with a brush and use a pick or knife to clean the grooves. Then I clean the grips with fast orange.

I look at my irons and wedges after every shot and if I notice anything I clean them then - I also look at the face when I take them out of the bag and clean them if necessary.
