The inserts are very easy to install using the Sting Stopper installation tool, and the installation can be done either when building clubs or when re-gripping your clubs. The insert is a 10 inch length of special shock-dampening foam that slides in the butt of the shaft with the help of the special tool.

Can you use epoxy to install a golf shaft?
Using epoxy to install a shaft is not a difficult task, but I think some people get a bit confused when dealing with different types of golf clubs. Putters are fairly easy to do, but when re-shafting irons and woods, we have to install the ferrule as well, which is a bit confusing to the novice.

I have recently suffered a bit of tendinitis in my left wrist and forearm. I feel that proper grip pressure, technique, strengthening and stretching can alleviate this issue. In the mean time I was curious as to which steel shaft is best at filtering unwanted vibration.

Pro soft inserts from Myostrichgolf.com in any shaft will work. Not hitting on mats helps and an overlooked part is grips. Some grips provide much more dampening than others. Also contact tape on the face so you practice hitting the center of the face more often.

I am more interested in people's experiences with the shafts, but thanks for the suggestion.

IMHO, almost any shaft with inserts: Ping, Sensicore or ProSoft. I've tried the ZZ65s, Black Gold, Nippon 850, 950, DG w/o Sensicore, Rifles and PXs. The Nippons were marginally better than any others, but the inserts all worked amazingly well.

So it sounds like the solution for right now is to Prosoft the DGs, and then see if I can try out some Steelfibers or Nippons if/when I get new irons.

Take your wife or girlfriends old nylon stockings and stuff them down the steel shafts (with the grip off). Cotton balls can also be used but they get damp and hold moisture. The nylons provide great shock absorption without adding weight.

What does vibration in golf shafts do?
Keep in mind, that the feel of vibration in the shaft often provides the golfer with a lot of feedback into his or her swing. For golfers that rely upon this feedback – you may want to consider using them in certain clubs only, or not using them at all.
What is shaft vibration dampening?
Shaft vibration dampening is the process of placing specially developed foam inserts into the club shaft. They are virtually weightless (1 – 2 grams) and do not affect swing weight.
