For the very first phase of the battle against the Snow King, you will have to destroy its arms so that you can damage its body. To do so, you will have to take down a few crystals found around the area. The ones you want to take down are the ones that emit a beam of light.

Around the room, you can spot four crystals, two of which emit a beam of light. Run to one of the platforms in front of a crystals and press the A Button near one of the Bob-ombs. Launch Bob-ombs at both of the glowing crystals to get rid of the Snow King's arms.
