My car recently told me I need a new fob battery. Not surprising as I only use one fob and have done nearly 18,000 miles. Popped the cover, stuck in a new CR2025 and went outside - nothing!

You need to bend the 2 metal connectors that sit around the edge of the battery back in to ensure they make good contact with the new battery. I think taking the battery out bends them out slightly.

Just gone to open the car and ... nothing. No red light on key fob. Cleaned battery and contacts. Tried another new battery (3.31V). Still no light when a button is pushed = no power to keyfob ...

Yeah. Looking at Amazon reviews, I think even some of the 'Duracell' and 'Panasonic' ones on there are not really what they say. The inferior ones read 3.3V but must sag too much when asked to transmit the RF to the car. Even more likely on a low mAh CR2025 vs a CR2032.
