After reading about TM making financing available for golf clubs…it kind of got me to thinking. One of my other passions is firearms, and I own a couple of high end 1911's (wilson combat and a customized Colt). I had to scrimp and save and budget and wait to get exactly what I wanted.
BottleCap
I don't understand why you would need to finance golf clubs. They're a small expense compared to everything else in golf, like lessons, green fees, range card, costumes, whiskey, and par mates.
GolfNuts4
Golf clubs should be a discretionary purchase in my opinion. Only buy them if you can afford them, they should not put a dent in any finances or cash flow. I may sound old school in that opinion, but I cannot imagine someone really financing a set of clubs.
BottleCap
Sounds like a hassle, have to apply and then even more junk mail and phone lists you get on

Golf clubs and other golf related expenses are usually spent from disposable income so financing isn't really needed. Just curious, and I don't know if I'd ever do it bc I'm not a fan of financing things. But does anyone know if there are golf stores that finance for new clubs? Kind of like how Best Buy will finance a new $800 TV, interest-free for 6 months or whatever.
ZEUS
Good question... I wonder if any major retailer has thought about it. especially nowadays more and more will be willing to do it with the way the economy is.
NormH3
A lot more people buy new TV's than buy golf clubs. Many of these big box stores have their own credit cards and that's how they offer 6 months same as cash.
andemw01
Golfsmith does like the last person said, or Dicks if they have clubs you interested in.
dmband8985
if you can't afford them now, don't buy them. no interest no payments sounds good now, but what is the cost to you in 6 months? what ridiculous rate of interest are they going to charge you? 20%?? 25%??? what is the late payment penalty? we live in a volatile world now...things are likely to get worse before they get any better.

I have seen signs posted at some of the local pro shops, "Let us finance your new clubs!" an advertisment for a finance company. I'm sure the shop gets a kickback for every $100 financed or something, but I don't know of any of the no intrest/no payment type deals.
Fourputt
Wow. It's really simple guys. You pay the balance off before the end of the promotional time period. I haven't paid a dime of interest.
