I don’t like playing golf solo. Is there an app for finding a playing partner? Thanks.
Imhappyinthe80s
Golfmatch is an app, but it's crap. In my area there isn't much action. It's basically the same 30 people posting about the ridiculously priced golf events the App runs.

It might not be the answer you were looking for, but join a golf club. I did, and I've met a ton of new people to play golf with.

You guys beat me to it, I was going to be a smart arse and say Tinder....but in all reality find a course that is pretty busy and have the starter pair you up. Make some friends who like golf, get guys phone numbers if you are paired with them, or message guys on this site who live in your area.

I would be interested in talking to you about this, but I would want it USA wide.

My ways: 1.) Ask around at work. Most of my playing partners work at the same company. You also meet their friends and it goes from there. 2.) Walk up as a single. You never know who you'll get paired with. I've met some great people. 3.) People on this forum. I've actually golfed with a couple I've met here. 4.) Join a league.

You're not going to find many folks that can golf as much as you, unless they are retired. I would suggest joining a league at 2-3 courses. You could be playing competitive golf almost every day that way.

I go to the local munis and the starter almost always puts me with a group. If not, I go alone and almost always catch up with a two or threesome and join them. I have developed some golf buddies that way.

I joined a local golf group on facebook. They have regularly scheduled rounds. I just send a message to the group founder when I can play with them. There is another website where you can join a USGA recognized local golf club online to establish an official handicap. You can then message members to play rounds of golf.

Every saturday I walk on a course and get paired up with a two some or three some. I always have fun but it would be nice to find others who want partners on a little more regular basis. I'm a woman so I don't get asked as much to go play.

Title says it all. I don't have many friends who play, and I can never seem to get together with the few that do. My local course doesn't have a lot of people coming through so I nenver get paired up with anyone. I'm just tired of constantly playing alone.

Seriously though I'm in the same boat. Getting the old foursome together is like putting a man on the moon. I go out as a single a lot and have gotten paired with some great people which is fine for my local track. But I really miss having a group to travel with and play new courses.

When I lived in Tucson, I played every Sunday, year round. For a long time I was a single, so I was getting paired up with different twosomes or threesomes every week. After a while I was occasionally getting paired up with guys I'd played with before. Fun, but not a requirement for me to enjoy a round.

I'm living in a new area now where I know nobody outside of work, and nobody at work seems to play, so on weekends I end up joining random groups on the tee sheet.

Fortunately my wife had a customer that invited me to play with his group. I went the first time just to be nice and when we finished everyone said I should come back the next week and I haven’t stopped going for three years. Great group of guys and the wife can’t complain because she hooked me up.

What is the difference between a league and an association? I'm in a league now, and thinking of joining the "mens association" at my course next year. But they're exactly the same to me - a group of guys who play once a week (plus some special events) and have a few social events.
