Use Liquid Glass on your woods (painted areas) before you put them in play and again every so often. It is found in automotive stores in the wax section but it isn't wax. It puts a clear hard protective coating that works wonders. Apply, sit in sun to bake on, buff, re-apply as much and as often as you like. Fantastic stuff.

Wax and polish is pretty much a waste of time. Clean the clubs with soap and water and towel dry. That's about the only thing you can do.
