Well I've recently switched back to an older set of irons I really enjoyed, however the lead tape on the back is bothering me and I was hoping someone would know some good ways to take the lead tape off.

With your irons it might be tough depending on where you positioned the tape, but whenever I clean lead tape off of irons I'll use something thin, sharp to get under the tape so it will start peeling, slowly peel off as much as I can, then clean the residue off with Goo Gone. There are multiple ways to do this it just takes time.

Thanks all for the replies so far, I've been using the sharper edge on a grip remover along with some WD40 and thats working alright, but you guys are right this is a lengthy process :wacko:

Wow - I didn't realize it was so difficult to remove lead tape. I was thinking of adding some tape to the sole of my Scotty Cameron but after reading this I definitely am not going to do it.
