When I was hitting my Texan driver and Maxfli HT Balatas (many moons ago), this was how the ball launched. With the old balata balls, it was nice to be able to hit that shot from out of the trees once in awhile too. Start it low under one tree and then watch it climb over the next.

Huge distance loss on this type of shot. I have a buddy who is 6'7" an hits a ball with a little of this action. Looks like a cannon shot. I then get up with my setup and hit a mid/high shot that is flat at the top and just floats out there forever.
