In fact, the best sport air filters can actually increase your horsepower by about 3 to 5 HP and increase your torque as well. Some more expensive units will also come with a cold air intake unit.

Does a cone filter use more fuel?

A: No, a cone filter would not improve the the mileage as it doesn't control the fuel mixture. And as for “extra power”, unless the throttle is wide open climbing the hill, the throttle plate is the restriction on horsepower, not the filter. So no benefit to be had in those conditions.

Does a cone filter make your car faster?

If you are interested in installing a cone filter you have to remember that the only noticeable difference will be the sound the car will make. The performance won't be increased by a great amount but drivers have claimed that it does make their cars more fuel efficient.

The main advantage of using cone filters is a better and more complete coffee flavor. The shape of the filter impacts the flow of water through coffee particles. This, in turn, enhances coffee ground saturation and extraction.

Does K&N filter damage engine?

K&N filters will not damage the engine internals but they can damage or at least coat the Mass Air Flow sensor if your car has one and most cars now do. The oil that the K&N filter is soaked in can separate and contaminate the wires of the MAF.

What happens if I drive without an air filter?

Without an air filter in place, the engine may also be sucking dirt and debris in at the same time. This can cause damage to internal engine parts, such as valves, pistons and cylinder walls. The result is excessive oil consumption, poor engine performance, and eventually engine failure.

Can a cold air intake cause problems?

One of the most common symptoms associated with a bad or failing cold air intake is a reduction in engine performance. The cold air intake also uses an engine air filter, which when clogged or dirty can cause a reduction in power, acceleration, and fuel efficiency.
