Installing Tracks
With that background provided, we’ll now discuss the process of installing this style of weather enclosure as well as some tips and best practices. Of course, the first step in this process, is to install the tracks. This requires that a track be installed along each side and the rear edge of the underside of the top.
Inserting Side Panels
With the tracks, installed, lets move onto installing the side and rear panels. Each panel is designed with a “welt” sewn onto each upper end. It is basically a circular piece of reinforced plastic inside the curtain. It fits securely into the channel portion of the track. The panels slide into the tracks from either end.
Setting the Curtain Snaps
Next, we move onto setting the snaps. We order all of our custom track style enclosures without the snaps pre-set into the curtain. This allows us more flexibility to place the snaps at the best location for perfect fitment. Once you plan out the snap location, a small cutter tool is used to punch out a hole in the material.
Setting the Body Snaps
Once the female snaps are pressed into the curtain panels, we mark the location of each onto the body. In each location, we drill a small hole and install a male snap with an internal screw into the body. After those are installed, the snaps can be fastened together to secure the track style enclosure in the down position.
