The thing I don't quite get about this is won't the hands follow the path needed to hit the ball? In other words, if I'm super steep, merely bringing my hands closer to the body will make me miss the ball. If I shallow correctly in transition, my hands will "naturally" end up closer. Is this thinking incorrect?

It could make you steep with your AoA and you certainly don't want your thighs coming out too much to get close to your original crappy hand path..lol. I have seen that before.

So I've been working with the bottle in my pocket for a while now. One of the added benefits, I think, has been to use my forearm touching the bottle as a cue to start the pivot with my lower body. This all happens in slow-mo as a rehearsal. On real swings, my hips are still way too fast, but the rehearsal is helping.
