Talent gets you no where in golf. Professional golf takes three things: funding, luck, and hard work. A golfer must have these 3 things just to be on a tiny tour. There are a lot more guys with no talent who have won major championships with hard work than there are John Daly types.

From reading your story about forgetting your golf shoes and shooting 72, not wearing your golf shoes did not cause you to shoot the 72. The playing all year and averaging 76-77 caused you to shoot the 72. If you played only a few times a year and shot in the 100's, then forgot your shoes and shot a 72 it might be different.

Yes and no... You can have a terrible terrible swing but the point be if you practice that terrible terrible swing enough you will get good with it. I know a ton of really really good golfers. I know a few great golfers.
