I've always got my ipod on while on the range mate. It's proven that faster/louder/aggressive music makes people drive faster and I'm pretty sure different genre's have different effects on the golf swing.

In my regular foursome we always have tunes on!! Golf Takes soo long now to play so why not bring the beach there. Nothing too loud to be annoying to other groups but loud enough that you can hear it.

One of the local courses I play is surrounded by a park. On Friday, I think the first Friday of the month, they have a free concert. It usually consist of a cover band playing a mix of 60's to 80's music. I must admit it is kind of nice because the music floats across the course and is just enough in the back ground that it doesn't bother you.

To me listening to music while playing golf seems very odd, in fact I found the fact that people actually do this very suprising, espcially after reading the previous posts on this thread. I have seen a few people do it on the range, but to me I would think that could really screw up your swing since that most of "feel" is actually sound at impact.
