Does anyone have a good plan for a DIY backyard hitting net? I'm thinking I could make a frame out of PVC, then put up a decent net and maybe a thick (ish) painter's drop cloth for a back drop. I'm figuring at least 8' tall, maybe 10', maybe a 2-3 foot section at a 45° angle at the top pointed toward the hitter to knock down any stray popups.

If you do a google search you will find some basic DIY plans, but I think you have a pretty good idea on how to set one up. The big question would be cost and if it would be any better than one of the nets you can buy online.

Here was my setup until about 2 weeks ago, upgraded to a net return pro. Net was too old and too many balls were going flying through the neighborhood.

After pricing this one out, it can be built for around $200 if you use the pro high impact netting (recommended for >110mph swing speed) and about $150 if you just use the high impact netting (good up to 110mph).

We are on lock down here in PA, no ranges or golf courses open.....Looking for some feedback on backyard practice hitting into a net. Is it beneficial?

Feedback

One thing I’ve been considering is getting an inexpensive launch monitor, like the prgr. You can get foot powder spray and use it to practice nailing the sweet spot. You can work on fundamentals like tempo, set-up with guide sticks, balance. There is actually quite a bit you could work on each day. I have a net, and also a chipping basket.

Feedback

Any suggestions on a free video capture app so I can analyze my swing?

Feedback

I've set up an impact bag at home just filling an old bag with cushions and placing towels over it. I use an old iron and I can hit the crap out of it. But I was wondering about a purpose built impact bag I can take the course or driving range.

Feedback

It really depends on how you work on your game, and probably where you are at in your game. I currently am reworking my swing (thank you George Gankas, for your unbelievable website), so using the mirror and camera in the yard is super beneficial.
