This makes a lot of sense, my wife has the camera option on her polo and it is mounted low down near the number plate, this means it is often manky and distorted video is shown unless yo specifically remember to clean the lens! I specced the camera as on the golf it is protected from muck

Yes it does take a couple of seconds to flip back in. I was leaving my parents house the other day having reversed off the drive I received a call from Mum to say there was a bit sticking out at the back of the car as I drove away
