Taylor Made used foam in much abundance in the early 90's - drivers, fairways, raylors...even inside irons. The concept was allegedly for precise swingweighting, but the feel left the head rather dull. Wisely dropped in the later series of clubs for a livelier "hot" feel off the face.

I was told once by a Callaway rep the reason they stopped putting foam in their drivers was it came loose a lot and changed the sound of the driver.
