by Bryce Streich III Published 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago

Put the grip over the butt of the shaft and slide it on. If you used adequate solvent, you don’t need to rush, but you should work quickly. Once the grip is installed to the proper length, check the alignment against the club face.

Did you try using one of these? [attachment=197650:1819.jpg] There is nothing special about the NV shaft size, the grip should go on.

Oh dam why aint they goin on then! na i didnt use no fancy equipment i just pushed the club head up agaisnt the wall and pushed them on as hard as possible haha! Not gr8 i know, but it did the job. I just cant get them on, is the players sofftie grip abit smaller at the end than others?? maybe?

They don't make special grips for the woods. If the grips are too tight you need to use more solvent. If the grip is too big you need to build up the shaft with another layer of tape. After doing a quick search they are probably too tight. i.e. .600 grip on shafts with a .600+ butt size.

wkuo3

make sure you use enough solvent on the tape and inside the grip. there is no reason why the grip won't get on, remember to push it on in one smooth non-stop motion, you could adjust the alignment after the grip is on. I hope you're not using 7-10 wraps of tape, it'll be murder to do that.

wkuo3

You'll need to secure the shaft, if not it's very difficult to put force into pushing. Are you using the double sided grip tape? Don't use the tape for carpeting ( too much glue ). I would also inspect the inside of this particular grip to see if anything blocking the pathway. No way that it won't work.

The NV shaft butt size is oversized at .620 to .630, but a grip should still go on

dlygrisse

Make sure you put solvent inside the grip and shake it, then pour the excecss ont he grip tape, dont skimp on the solvent. No reason the wood should be any harder than the irons. What kind of solvent are you using, I have found that good old mineral spirits or Ronsonal Lighter fluid work the best.
