I’ve used the GW tape and solvent with no issues. But others have had issues. You might want to get some Brampton solvent. It always works.

Biggest problem I see is that most do not remove the sharp edge on the butt of the club. A little sanding to give you a smooth edge and you won’t have the binding problem.
