If you play chrome-forged, carbon steel irons, you may want to rechrome them to bring back the luster of their original state. Most refurbishment jobs target performance, by repairing nicks, scratches and dents. Rechroming.

Focus your efforts to the sole and the crown. Begin painting. Begin with the crown, find a color match for the crown, then slowly apply smooth strokes with your paintbrush.

Warning: Never use steel wool on your driver and fairway wood club heads. It will scratch the crown and face, and be sure to dry the head completely to avoid oxidation. Steel wool bristle club cleaners are great at getting dirt and sand out of iron grooves, but never clean your driver with them. Let the club dry.

hey, this will be my first post so sorry if it may be in the wrong topic or my questions have already been answered... i searched for it and did not finds what i was looking for. im looking for some information on how to refinish mainly irons and wedges or even putters.

Stainless irons are the easiest to refinish. Get some sanding roll strips and a file and go to town. I just finished a set of 431 stainless Wishon 752 irons and they turned out nice. I've done Ping's too.

FYI, you can't do that kind of refinishing on chrome plated irons, only stainless steel. What specific clubs are you wanting to restore?

ive kind of gotten into this refinishing thing lately and been doing alot of wedges and a few putters... right now i just clean up the wedge and paintfill to make it look nice and a bit newer. but im interested in new finishes. clubs i usually work on are vokeys. usually spin milled.

Only the oil can Vokey's can be worked on like referenced here. The chrome plating on top of the carbon steel would have to be stripped off to make the club "raw" before you could sand on the head to remove dings and the like.
