put the jack right under where the front engine mount is bolted to the cross beam, then jack up untill thats taking the weight and just starts to raise the car a smidge, then take the bumper off and if it will be off for a while put the bolts back in with a nut and BIG washer on the other side, but dont be tempted to drive the car unless your spreader plate is big... or as the bumpers being sprayed, if they dont need the bumper iron then remove that and put that back in... bobs your uncle you will be fine.

4 19mm bolts, 2 either side, undo them, pull bumper forward and disconnect indicators and fogs. Job done

doesn't the bumper help support the engine? make sure you have a jack or some support under the sump/gearbox first

PS.. the bumper bolts are recessed in holes, the exposed b9lt holds the k frame, do not undo it.

as above, if its the first time you have removed the bumper support the crossmember. and even if it isn't, still a good idea! the bolts that hold the engien crossmember up are small, and tyhe captive nuts that they screw into are supported by very thin steel on the radiator carrier.
