I go to the range alot, and I'm basically a hacker. So, my clubs tend to get alot of the green mat residue on the bottom. Use acetone, or nail polish remover, you can pick up a quart at the hardware store for a few bucks, it will pretty melt any plastic based product right off with no effort.

Nylon brush and water, maybe some liquid dish detergent. I don't know about your mats, but my green residue comes off the first time I hit the club on the course. Acetone! Good for getting the paint out of the numbers on the bottom of the sole, oh...and for melting fiberglass boats. Be careful with this stuff.
