I recently purchased some clubs and tried removing stickers on the shafts, which left glue/sticky residue on the shaft. I searched online and found several methods of removing the glue. I heard nail polish remover and paint thinner. I really didn't want to try either of those on my graphite shafts and wedge/steel shafts.

I use goo gone. It smells good and doesnt damage anything. I think its like $4 from home depot so its cheap too.

Grip solvent or mineral spirits works fine, which I think is the active ingredient in Goo gone. Stay away from acetone, it will melt the lacquer finish on the shaft.

I don't see why not. When I buy new woods I ask that price and manufacturer labels be removed, and I've seen them use Goo Gone (Pro shop, now defunct 2nd Swing, etc.).

I've seen shop staff use heat guns to melt the label before my very eyes. Didn't seem to damage the shaft but it was pretty alarming the first time I saw it.... I think it works by breaking down the glue? Peeling it off was pretty easy thereafter.

Alcohol (Isopropyl)and a cotton ball make short work of removing the glue. It has never harmed any of my clubs and I have used it for years.

I use my wife's fingernail polish remover if I don't have any grip solvent around. I haven't found alcohol to be a very good solvent for most of those bar code sticker adhesives.

I have seen where TM uses a very thin double sided tape. It may look like glue since its a bit opaque. But heat to remove and wipe down with mineral spirits to get the residue off.
