You just need to prise them off with a suitable lever (not a screwdriver or anything metal though!) I tend to do the bottom edge first, then you can just pull it off with your hands. When you re-fit them just push them back on the clips till they click, but only push right in the middle of the glass, not the edges.

Simpler than the heatgun is a pot of water on the boil or rice cooker and steaming tray. Or perhaps a sieve/colander. Whatever will allow you to suspend the unit over the steam.
