I have a pair of Callaway golf shoes that have the "Quick Twist" soft spikes. I have been trying to remove the originals and replace however I am having one tough time getting the old spikes out! This is rediculous! It is almost like the mfg wants you to throw out the shoes when the spikes need to be rreplaced!

An old trick - use with care. Heat up the tip of a flat bladed screwdriver - something like a 3/8" or 1/2" tip. Heat until the tip glows red. Now push the hot tip into the centre of the spike, being careful not to push the tip in too far - 1/4" should do the trick. Wait for the blade to cool - you can then turn out the spike like a normal screw.

Some water should do the trick. It's dried up mud that's acting at cement and getting it wet would loosen up the grip. Just soak pour some water at the bottom and let it sip into the spike threads. You should be able to twist off the spikes with ease that way.

The quick twist's that I had had little nubs on the underneath side of the spikes and corresponding indents in the soles of the shoes. When I pressed down on the spikes with the spike wrench they actually gripped harder.
